Destroying a palisade without a ram

Postby bmjclark » Sat Apr 16, 2011 11:49 am

What are the chances anyone actually has high enough strength to do this already? Cause there is someone outside my base saying they're gonna break down my wall and they're attacking it. Good chance hes just being stupid or is 500 strength possible already. He's using a stone axe not a sledgehammer too >.>

How much time has passed? Enough for A LOT of cheese, and for killing hundreds of boars/bears. It's entirely possible that someone has 500+ str already. But such persons also have huge villages and steel and silk...

A sledgehammer and ~450 str will cause damage to a palisade. Less than 1 damage per hit. 484 str is needed to do one damage per "swing" with a sledgehammer.

Yeah, and although it's possible... I doubt anyone would do that to their main, and I think it's still a little early for an alt to have that kind of work put into it. You'd probably only see something like that out of one of the bigger factions in the game. And if so they wouldn't threaten, they'd just bust in and take what they wanted if you had anything good.

At this point, I doubt it, too, though give it another month or two, and yeah, you'll see people breaking Palis with bare fists. Never underestimate the power of a good bot. If he was using a sledge, I might actually believe he'd take it down after a day or two, but not as fast as you could repair it back.

Depends on the base. I've seen villages so massive you could build a house on their less-traveled area and no one would realize it for a few days. Villages where the people live in one corner, a farm occupies another, and the other half the village claim is a large mudflat with nothing in it. Bring several pots of tea, a bucket of high q water, and some WWW sausage, and you could probably bash it down with enough time. Higher con helps, since you won't tire as quickly.
