Yes.

Adventure>Lift the crate and right click the cart. Unless the cart is full, your character will walk over to the cart and the cart inventory will open.

You can put any liftable object other than a boat in a cart. Cupboards are useless, though, as you can only lift them when empty.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Large Crates are the largest container that can be moved while loaded, with the possible exception of wardrobes. I think they can be moved full, and when loaded right they can hold more than a cupboard, but only carry equipable items. Either way, Coffers are the largest non-metal container, as they only need bone glue, leather, rope, and wood. However, at times it will be better to carry something raw, like carry and un-cut log, or a whole auroch corpse. Although sometimes containers win here too. If you're ignoring the crappy q10 hide and bones, you can carry back a large crate's worth of 3-4 auroch intestines and meat. Or, if you're like my village, bring the meat grinder to the grassland, and pack all the auroch into sausages and stuff them all into one container.

How you handle cargo and space management will be very important.
