Why don't Land Claims erode, like Town Claims? They should.

Why don't Land Claims erode, like Town Claims? They should.

I'm exploring large areas of the map, and finding too many claims covering almost every cave entrance there is, but full of nothing but rotting items. Obviously abandoned.

These personal claims should erode based on size, against the owners earned LP. Of course this will have to be fine tuned to affect inactive players, and be a non-issue for active players.

This clears the map for new players who are active in the game, and would encourage current claim owners to play more often.

Just my two cents. ;)

We had a lot of these threads, besides, if you want to get rid of a claim you just have to make a village claim at the moment, no big deal.

Kind of is.

If someone inactive person pours 20k LP into his claim over a very high quality node, you either spend weeks declaiming it or leave anyone and everyone who goes and steels from that node vulnerable to summonkills by a random do-gooder/griefer.

it's called balancing risk vs benefit.

I can see other reasons to have the inactive personal claims fade. Built a settlement with 2 other players. One lost intrest and quit early on the other I thought was in it for the long haul. I had a personal claim above ground and she built her's inside our cave entrance. About 2 weeks ago she quit logging in all together. My main and miner can pass her claim but any new toons I make or new people who join me will need trespass just to go into "our" cave. Yes I could build a village idol in the cave to wipe her persoanl claim but I already have my main and miner as part of the above ground village idol. Just a hassle ..... Nothing world ending but a real hassle none the less.

Although I agree the system doesn't seem perfect, a 20k LP claim is quite easy to nuke. It's 100k+ that becomes a problem since the Auth required is more than a naked village idol can store.

It should be noted that with little effort a single character can maintain a standard Village Claim. I just like this idea so people who are squatting on simple resources like a cave can't leave for a month without any effect.

This is an old subject and doesnt' really belong here. If anyone wants to discuss the merits of it, find the old thread in C&I. I'm not a mod, but I'm sure they're going to agree with me. This is a help forum for new player questions, not a place to discuss 'new features'.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

This was half "how can I?" and half "if not, then please add"
