Quality of metal

Hi

is iron ore q50 worth something or is it so common that it has no value ?

q50 is pretty dang rare at layer 1, so hold onto it

It is however the standard quality on layer 5. So only ore above q50 can really be considered rare, q50 ore is just more effort to get than q10.

It is reasonably valuable and rare, especially atm. I'd compare it to silver even, but maybe I'm wrong.

I wouldn't say that, but it's not all that common, either. (I've found 90+ on L1, so take that for what you will.)

The quality of the ore is only part of the equation, though, and is worthless if you have a crap smelter.

On level 5 you'll need hundreds of str to dig. it's not a problem for villages, though...

Hmm maybe another angle, we have crappy smelter so i thanked we can sell it but don`t know if anybody would but it, and if what price it could get.

You might be better off selling the ore instead of reduced quality bars. What nature/industry did you mine it at? If at full industry, figure about 20% of the value of a q50ish bar, if at neutral, about 10%, and don't even bother if it was mined at full nature. (That just annoys anyone buying ore directly.)

Check the "Apples for Oranges" forum approximate values on bars and such.
