What skills should I get???

People kill me, animals, bugs, everything! I'm getting exploration, I'm at 5 again. I get fishing, hunting, and foraging. How is the best way to defend myself????

Join a village. They will offer you protection, and you can get whatever skills you want.

Yeomanry is a good one to start off with. Then build yourself a palisade.

Explore the world and find one, then ask to join. Also, asking in the Dwarves and Thieves forum can help.
When I'm not farming in Haven and Hearth I'm being eaten alive by zombies in Die2Nite.

I've a feeling you're dying to bears, boars, and ants. The best way to avoid that is panning the camera around. Play around with the cameras in the options menu, use the middle mouse button to scroll the screen, and download one of the custom clients to play.

For the ants, about 7 UA will let you raid the ants without kiting them around. Warning: only raid one at a time. You won't have enough defense to raid a second till you rebuild your defense, either through combat or time.

As for a village, that's up to you. The game can be just as fun being a hermit with a cabin or just wandering around foraging and selling to the local villages.
