A few things... (Help Appreciated)

Postby ChickenSlim » Wed Apr 20, 2011 8:16 pm

I have Chickens that I want to breed, and some seeds planted.
-- Is there a visual cue that my crops are ready to harvest? Or do I just keep on trying to harvest them, and get lucky when the timer is done?

I logged in to a group of Deer.
-- How long will they stay trapped in here (below)? I've just made a sling, but I doubt I'll be able to kill them right now.

I'm also looking for someone to trade with. I've only found a huge Town or two in my area, and it seems pretty dangerous to just run up and wait at the gate.

Deer's will dissapear in ~15min or so if you are not in sight of them.
The crops will have an "harvest" selection when they are ready.. try right clicking the crop

Oh and.. deer's will brake the signs.. so kill them on a boat.

Don't kill deer unless in a boat, they break fences. Leave the area for 15 minutes ish and they despawn. They also heal a lot, you'll need a decent sling and ~50MM to kill a single one reliably.

Crops have visual cues, but it's unique to each crop. Experience and you'll figure it out. Also check the ringofbrodgar wiki they have pictures.

Get a village idol and you can use the forums for trading if you get a hearth fireless alt to do it with. Much safer.

So I guess seeing as I haven't shot the sling yet, I may aswell just let them go? lol

I've made 2 chars, but they come with a hearth fire. Is there a way to destroy it, or put it out?

This stuff seems pretty obvious I guess, but I have done alot of looking into things.

Thanks guys :)

If you build it in a new place, the old one will become just a regular fire. You can also destroy it if you want to have no hearthfire, but that's not really recommended imo.

If someone picks up a scent and you rebuild your hearth fire, does the scent then lead to the new fire, or is it reset and "not trackable"?

Only sure way to avoid being tracked and killed is to stay online constantly and walk in the opposite direction of where you stole/vandalized/murdered.

No hearth fire and offline lets them summon you anywhere. If you're online they can't do that though, just track you.

I don't see how this applied to a trading alt.

The most crime you'll be doing on a trading alt is trespassing. Which is not a summonable offense.
