building a well

i got my rod and i have found a spot to build my well, i got stone working and everything but theres a problem in my stone working the option to build a well is not there...i think i have to discover something, but what?

You need to discover all of the materials to make the well, so you need to make a rope, bucket, boards, wooden Blocks, and chip stones.

Alot of people seem to miss the rope. (I missed the bucket at first) =/

imo they should make it so you don't have the dowsing rod recipe until you've got the well recipe =/

Not because it's hard to get bucket and rope.

Because there's no point in even making a dowsing rod until you've discovered bucket and rope.

You linking up two things in the wrong order.

You don't need to be able to build a well unless you need one. But not needing a well yet, or or being able to build one, don't excludes the point of scanning a area for potential water/well spots so you know if a area is of any interest to you. (whatever interest that might be, personal home, village planning, other.)

But ... There is no point in being able to build a well ... unless you can detect or scan for water/well spots.
