How do I fix the refused connection on enders and gibertus

I wasn't sure if this should go here or in the bugs forum, but I haven't seen it in either, so here it goes. Whenever I try to open either client it tells me that my connection is refused, is there a way to fix this?

Make sure to run the client via run.bat.

What's supposed to happen then? It opens a black window for a second then closes.

There is a custom client troubleshooting guide in "The Wizards' Tower". Try working your way through it. It should cover your problem.
