Quality terrain...

Postby nuke76 » Sat Apr 23, 2011 5:02 pm

Im in a poor terrain, quality 30, there is a way to increase it?

If not, how i can search a good quality terrain? (The max quality terrain that i can found is 100?)

Maximum is probably around 125 or so. Just search around and dig.

Can't increase it. However, soil (the terrain, not the item) is only useful for farming, and even if it's low it doesn't make much of a difference. People want high q soil for planting trees, which require soil (item) to plant.

It doesn't make much of a difference if you can get your hands on high quality seeds - if not, setting up a farm on a low quality spot will seriously keep your crop quality behind.
If you farm on q30 soil instead of a decent spot with say, q90 soil, your crops will always be behind by 40 quality points.

Hardly. Soil only limits the rate of quality increase. The factor is time to get to the same spot. The crops on Q90 soil will take about half as many generations to get to q100 as the the crops on q10 soil. A group on Q90 soil won't have to worry about farming skill as much as soil won't be capping the random range on top of soil until they hit that soil cap. At that point, they're at the same spot as the group farming on q10 soil.

I think you missed my point.
When the group with q90 soil has reached q100 crops, the people on q10 soil will still be at slightly below q50.
Since from that point on, the average increase will be the same for both groups, the q90 group will always stay 50 quality points ahead.
