Is there an easier way to find yourself?

Postby killette2 » Mon Apr 25, 2011 11:32 pm

I have memorized a large amount of the map around me but I can never find myself on the world map. Isn't there an easier way?

Yes and no. If there are 3 places you know of/people who know where they are willing to help, kin them, party, use 'follow' to verify direction and use this to triangulate position.

The best way though is always to find a very memorable area on your map and find it on the world map (make sure you actually uploaded your area).

Find a thicket or mud flat or purple area near you with a mildly unique shape (such as a penis). Then go onto the world map and look for said formation. You can also look for mountains but they for the most part look the same.

This is definitely the way to go, each lake, grassland/marsh/heath/moor area is unique in shape and some even have a feature or two that make it even more distinct. These are a great aid to locating yourself on the world map - nothing else matches them for scale and visibility. Some other landmarks are going to be instances of rarity, like a river going directly north of a mountain. Just find a large visible landmark, be patient and slowly comb through the map.

Isn't that a bit of an oxymoron in HnH?
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

What I thought at first too but most of them resemble penises however the shapes are still rather unique, some are limp, some stiff, some pointing, etc, etc.
