I'm starting to like nobody having metal. Just think of it as a different kind of game, one where only two dozen players are allowed to do exciting things.
In all seriousness, I expect a few changes in the next few weeks and one way or annother things will get more fair.
But really, we WANT mines to be this rare. Once a few of the high-level players get settled, then trade can develop and so forth. This is good.
It's just too bad that it's limited to the top 30 players out of the hundreds who play regularly.
Now, if ores and felled lumber and harvested plants aren't impacted by player skill, then there's a chance that the mid-levels and noobs would have something worthwhile if tedious to do, but as it stands only one person- the absolute best in the community- can be allowed to mine, as otherwise all you get is level 5 slag.
Surprise.
