I've noticed that a lot of people, instead of making palisades around cave entrances, are now using alts to place hearthfires in front of them to prevent entry. Is this legal?

sure why not, you can easily destroy HFs

still legal.you even have to vandalize a fence if its claimed.

break in the cave, leave them an aplogoy on a runestone and some goodies if you only want to look

if they are using hearthfires to protect the cave then i doubt the vandalism scents are worth it.

i'm actually considering blocking every cave with altfires just to attract vandal, if people start breaking for curiousity of whats inside. ;)

While we're on the subject of hearthfires, I seen a very large village surrounded by altfires. It is the most ugly thing I had ever witnessed.
