Questions about beehives

Hey, all. I'm a pretty new player (about a two or three weeks, I think). Between getting beared and boared, I built this beehive a few days ago. I understand that the hive has a chance to produce honey and wax every time a nearby crop grows from one stage to the next, but this thing hasn't given me anything since I built it. I guess I have two questions.

1. Is the amount of crops in the picture enough to produce honey and wax?

2. About how long should I expect the hive to take to produce honey and wax?

I've heard that building multiple hives can cause problems. How many plants should I have if I build multiple hives?

Also, I think the hemp's almost ready to harvest. Right clicking doesn't do anything yet.

You need to clear your ears if you believe that multiple hives cause problems.
Hemp will be ready when theres "harvest" when you right click it

1 beehive's radius filled with crops is better than 100 hives around one plant. But yeah it should make wax and honey but you don't have many crops at the moment so it is going to take a little bit longer than normal in my experience this is the case anyway.
