Prospecting question

Does this mean there's no available mine within 1000 tiles?
Or do I need some insanely high prerequisite to successfully prospect?

It would probably be that its not near by yeah, there has to be a few mine points out there somewhere, across rivers and such..

no mines within like 1/4-1/5 a supergrid's length as the radius of the circle. something like that.

the map posted is the "center" supergrid yes. its one of 9 atm.. and will keep expanding as needed.

Nope. As far as I've been able to tell, finding a mine is not a 'chance' - if you're within 1000 tiles, it should register when you prospect.

sure it is.
but i thikn iron mines are only in mountain ?

Mine locations are unrelated to terrain type.
