Metal in Caves

Postby Stuebi » Mon May 02, 2011 9:28 am

Hi guys.

Quick Question about Ore/Metal in Caves:

Can Caves only contain set Number of different Metals? In my current one where i found Iron and Copper only more and more Copper shows up. Is there a realistic chance i stumble upon something else?

Metal nodes spawn randomly around the map, and their relation to caves are totally accidental. So it depends on how large the cave is, cause a bigger cave has a greater chance to intersect more metal nodes. Hopefully youll find some tin, then you can make bronze, but copper and tin are quite common metals, so youll have a greater chance of finding more of them, than iron.

As i understand, gold and silver are found in lower levels, than cave is on

Iron is extremely common, too. In fact, I've got more iron than even a large village needs, but can't find any tin and only a small bit of copper in a very large cave system. Again, it's all random.

Yep, and I've got 3 tin 2 copper veins but only a single iron vein.

Any vein you have has a fresh chance to be a new metal. Since you need only tin, and not iron or copper, the chance you get the metal type you want is lower than getting something else then.
