"Hearth Vault"

Postby Sitting_Bill » Mon May 02, 2011 12:07 pm

What is this exactly? Is it a way of protecting your hearth fire so that noone can summon you?

How should I build one? Concentric brick walls around a log cabin or something, so that they have to move the ram too far to get to the next wall?

Cheers

although the true hearth vaults are now a thing of the past thanks to an update, it is possible to protect your self by surrounding your self with walls placed about 12 tiles apart or so, and about 3 or 4 of these wall should make people get bored and leave you alone, unless your a murderer

You've got the basic idea down. And to prevent people from wall hopping you fill the area's between the walls with signposts. Ideally speaking 3-4 brick walls would be ideal, but that gets very difficult to build if you space them properly. 2-3 layers of brick surrounded by some palisades might be a more time effective option. Also, throw up a village claim in the center with a crossroads leading out, and your hearth fire inside the cabin. This allows you transport in and out easily.

Thanks for a sensible response. Now I know it is not legit, my question is answered and I'm no longer interested. Was just wondering if there was some way of getting through walls I hadn't heard of.

You should also place a Personal Claim (via an alt) and a Village Claim (with an alt adding authority) on it. So that way noone else can drop a personal/village claim on your Hearth Vault. It can probably be used for Crossroads too.
