First hunting experience

What are the requirements - from the itemquality and the skill lvls - to hunt foxes and maybe bigger animals?

You can kill all animals with a q10 sling and 10 MM (well, deers are going to be hard).
A higher quality sling and higher marksmanship just speeds things up.

can i survive a direct fight with a fox with this skill / q sling? how many hits can it take and do i need to use some tricks like build a fence around them or s.th. similar?

You can't use ranged weapons for close combat and MM has no effect on it.
You just shoot at them from a boat. Building a fence prevents the animals from running away, but isn't strictly necessary.

If you wish to choose the close combat path, read viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6518

You can use any ranged weapon while at melee range, however, it's not advised. You lose a lot of ground quickly from not being able to use moves. However, if you're UA is good enough that you can switch between Oaken stance and Bloodlust and maintain defense, it's probably easier than building a trap.

Foxes can be penned with a roundpole fence. Aurochsen and mouflon can be penned with construction signs. Everything else: hunt from a boat or behind a palisade or brick wall.

For melee, you'll want about 25-30 UA vs fox (foxes run at sprint, so you have to finish them in one shot, though you can do a few small hits to get them to about half dead first), 80-90 minimum vs boar, 100-120 vs deer (if I recall right... plus you'll need to prevent them from running as with foxes), and I think 300+ for a bear (plus very good quality armor and sword--enraged bears will one-shot almost anyone). Conclusion: forget about melee killing animals unless you can one-shot them faster that way.

i've got another problem. my aim-meter doesnt go up, even after 10 seconds. i've got MM 10 and a q13 sling. I suppose i should see a smaller red bar at least but there was no bar at all... and whats UA?

It takes a LOT of MM to get the aim bar to go completely to the top. At lower MM scores, it might not even get to half. Just bring lots of ammo and fire when it's gets as full as it's going to get. Also, the higher your skill, the faster the aim bar fills.

UA or UAC=Unarmed skill. Also good to know: MC melee combat skill. These are the incrementable ones, not the ones you buy to get new abilities.

Aiming speed is inversely proportional to distance to the target. So yeah, try moving your boat a bit closer to the animal (but not too close!).
