You get crossroads, village teleport for trading with alts, and protection against hostile takeover by other village.

Yes, it definitely does make sense.

but, could i affort to get the 5k authority every day as a simple hermit who plays since the begin of the month? who could use the crossroads? only a member of the village who build it or everyone to get in and out?

Yes, it's not that hard if you're even remotely active.

As for how crossroads work, read wiki. Having them might one day save your stuff, if not your life.

You can easily afford the authority drain.

Anyone can use a crossroad that has a sign attached to it. So make sure that crossroads you attach signs to are secure while the destination doesn't need to be nearly as walled in.

what would be secure? if i'm right, i need to build a 2nd fortress for quicktravel via crossroads if i dont want to get unwanted guest inside my little hermitage. would'nt it be better if i've got no crossroads at all and leave the city via the normal gates (open and close via key alt)?

You misunderstand. When you create a crossroad it travels nowhere. From there, you make connections by taking signs from them. You can make a one way travel method, so that crossroads only leave your hermitage. Secure then would be to make sure nothing leads into your walls.

Lawspeaking, 40k lp, and the materials necessary to build a village idol. You only need charisma if you're gunning for the Chief position. The original founder starts as the lawspeaker.
