Demolishing a building

Postby mcsproot » Sun May 08, 2011 9:35 pm

Do I need to build a battering ram to do this?

I decided to re-arrange my plot a bit to be more space efficient, and this means my old house needs to go.

If I do need a ram, how much strength do I need to pull it down?

I'm not sure how much strength you need but I know that Timber house have about 25 soak damage so the average player wouldn't be able to break it with their hands. I could be wrong though. :)

I don't actually know the soak of houses, but I believe it's on par with a palisade. 25 soak is the same as a pali anyway. You'll need a ram for that unless you've got a sledgehammer and 484 STR in that case.

I destroyed a log cabin (20 soak) recently and although i have decent str (90 or so by the time), i couldnt damage the house without a battering ram very well. I was damaging it with an axe for quite a while (half an hour or so), but it didnt seem to have any effect (no color change). With a battering ram it took only a few hits... so I recommend a battering ram... a lot

20 for cabin, 25 for timber house, 40 for stone mansion. Never noticed that before Sab lol.

You need 400 STR to do 1 point of damage per tick with a stone axe. Poor Tommassino had no chance XD

Guess I'll have to think about building a ram then.

I'm guessing I could also just let it rot, but that will take a long time I'm sure.

I only have 26ish strength right now. Just keep getting bad luck with FEP. I'll have to live off of pumpkins for awhile I think.

There's a couple of fish that are good for Str, as well as ants. (I know studying ant soldiers is best, but can't deny the early str FEPs or for variety.)
