That's more in the region of ant-killer. For foxes you should really get more UAC.

If you know what you're doing, you can melee kill a boar at 90 UA, and strength doesn't really matter--agility does.

As I said above, the strength doesn't matter quite so much as your agility. For a fox, you'll want a bare minimum of 25 IF you know the combat system well enough and have enough attacks, moves, and maneuvers. Otherwise, I would push more for 30-40. With a fox, you'll want to control the damage you do and then kill with one final attack, usually Knock His Teeth Out (KHTO) or one of the melee attacks that deals extra damage. For the sake of this discussion, I suggest just sticking with KHTO.

For your first couple of fox kills, I highly suggest fencing the fox as you would if you were going to use a sling on it. This is so you can get to learn the pace of the combat and not have the fox run off on you because you mistimed an attack. If you can get some cutthroat knuckles, that will help your UA damage significantly.

With 50 strength and 30 UA I can kill a fox taking a small amount of damage.

At 40 UA I can a kill a fox without taking any damage.

Again, strength isn't important here on whether you can take the fox, only UA. Granted, a person with slightly better than beginner strength likely won't get a kill in because the fox will run unless it's boxed in. A good quality stone axe with some MC for a finishing blow will be enough to kill a fox, maybe even one-shot it.

For beginners it's suggested that you get 50UA to fight foxes. With that much UA, your AGI doesn't matter much and it lets you get used to the concept of combat. It also lets you brute force past not really knowing what any of the moves do and not using maneuvers at all.

People who know what they're doing can do it at something stupid like 15 UA I've been told, but that takes a fair amount of combat know how I'd expect.
