Cooking, becoming ash

Hey guys!

I am making carrot cake and pumpkin pies, but they turn to ash in the oven.
When doing the carrot cake i use 2 branches, and when doing the pumpkin pie i use 3 branches, but they turn to ash.
What should i do?

do not wait to lit em. or lite em with 1 branch instead.

Wait 15 minutes and then use just 1 branch. The cooking time ticks when doughs are in the oven even if the oven is not burning (bug, but useful one), it just needs fire to finish cooking. Same precooking trick also works for kilns, smelters and finery forges.
