hopefully my last question about taming

I read through all the tutorials and followed exactly what they said. I got my auroch to the 20 points (quell the beast) and it wont' de-aggro. I thought you had to wait for it to aggro again to start, but it never stopped in the first place. I started over (walking away from combat) and tried this process again, and it still happened.

Are you sure it is the same auroch that you were taming and not one of his 5 friends that was still aggro'd on you? Only the auroch you quell deaggro's, the rest stay aggro'd.

Once you successfully quell an animal, it will always deaggro. It will be attached to your rope and will follow you around but cannot be loaded onto rafts. At some point it will, as you pointed out, reaggro and become aggressive again.

If it is indeed it's herd, you can use them to your advantage. After quelling the beast, break combat with the herd and re initiate combat with one of the members you aren't taming. This ill cause the one you are taming to become aggressive again without losing taming points.

okay you're right. it was another animal of the herd that was aggrod. but what do I do now??? I have done the process 5 times and I'm on the last "quell the beast" the intensity is 0, the scale is tipped to my side... but it won't let me quell it! ugh this is so frustrating I've spent over an hour doing this and this is supposedly the last step to reach 100. What did I do wrong?

It bugs out like that sometimes. Happened to me quite a bit. It stops showing the number and you can quell well beyond 300% even and you'll never tame it. Cut your losses, kill it, and go tame another one.

This has happened to me before. If you accidentally initiate combat with the one you're trying to tame, you'll never be able to actually use Quell the Beast on it. Break combat with it and things might work for you again.
