A couple of questions

Postby nebunu » Sun May 15, 2011 12:52 pm

Hello

I am the type of player that likes to do a little bit of everything - hunt, mine, explore, farm etc ... i also don't like that being in a village will get you access to everything just because i am the carpenter of that city or stuff like that, i like to trade for everything i need (that is the reason why i play solo).

The problem is that farming, tree planting, silk making and mining just don't work together for a solo player, so my question is :

What is the most easy thing to do, make a full nature alt or a full industry one ? It would seem more easy to do a nature one that way i would only have to put points in farming and from what i know there are no stats requirements for farming, tree planting and silk making. On the other side from what i heard on the forums you can die while mining if you get a cave in or something like that and would not want to lose my main just because i did a noob mistake while mining.

I don't know if this helps with anything on deciding what path to go but here are my main stats and skills : got 45-50 in all the stats except charisma and psyche, 100 marksmaship, unarmed and survival and 50 in everything else except stealth and melee.

And one more question about the combat system, i am not sure i got the attack, defense and weight right : Let's say i have 100 unarmed and the attacker got 200 unarmed, considering the formula on the wiki about the weight that would mean he would be able to take my defense bar in one hit (with 100 red attack bar) ?

Thanks

Why not just make alts for both of those jobs?
You'd probably just want your main to be the crafter/builder and have the higher of the stat pools. The farmer does nothing but farm and buy up farming, needing nothing else as they rely on your main to process everything for them. As you mentioned, miners die, but all they'll need is strength anyway as mining isn't linked to any skill. Mining also has the downside that it's beneficial to focus on barbarism instead of civilization, so you have lower growth in lp.

The alts get the resources for you and your main processes them. If an alt dies, oh well. Heck, you could even make your miner full tradition to retain strength after death.

Yes, i guess you're right, it's just that i don't really like having alts and i think 1 alt it's enough for me.

I will leave my main the same way it is now with full nature and since i already have 50 farming on him i will put some more points as i go. I will make my alt a miner with full tradition, industry and barbarism, i also have a bear cape, talisman and some boar meat to pump out his strength + i got a q60 pickaxe i think it will do just fine.

Thanks a lot for the help

Personal opinion is have a miner alt, farmer main and one key alt. Reason being that the farmer grinds stats safely and doesn't need any particular stat to be abused. That way you can increase your stats without having to manually plow (which I personally HATE doing).
