Tanning Tub Function?

Postby michiko » Sun May 15, 2011 6:30 pm

*sigh*

Second embarrassing question asked to forum. (would be third, but Google helped me find out how to get off a boat)

How the flip do i fill up a Tanning tub? I have the bucket of water and tree hide, but my rabbit fur (after dried) into the tub.

Left click the bucket (full) so it is on my cursor, then I right click the tanning tub. I guessed this to be operation, wiki confirmed it. Just like anything else (putting stuff in boat, blah blah -- Filling the fricken bucket with water even!)

But - I get the bucket on the cursor and when I right click the tanning bucket, my cursor RIGHT over it on the game map it does nothing.

I'm following the same mentality as I did filling up the bucket (cept without putting the empty back in my inventory cause it just wont accept my clicking on tanning bed)

Same thing happens with the tree bark.

I have been able to operate kiln and stuff...sO not sure what my issue is here.

Is the tanning tub already full? If it's already full, then you have to wait until the fur is tanned into leather before it'll have room to fill more. You'll notice the animation change if it's filled up. Rather than looking empty it will look blue with water if its water gauge is full, and a murky brown-blue if it has both water and bark inside of it.

Ick, by your reply - I must be doing something stupidly wrong.

I don't think they are full Teck.

I just built them from the boards (which wouldn't let them be built on stone). They are built on my claimed land, inside a little fenced off area, on the ground.

So - just built them, the thing is at 0% - what I believe to be the 'fuel bars' are all the way empty (learned of the fuel bar(s) from the Kiln).

In my wandering I saw full ones...Pretty sure mine arent full.

Hmm...There is a slit next to the four slots and the fuel that 'drops all items' to ground.

I clicked that, on an empty tub, then tried to put water inside..and it worked.

Okay....allllrighty then.

EDIT:: It just seems, apparently, that the tanning tub has a small 'hit-box' that accepts the right click. Or at least much smaller than other objects.

Odd though because before I posted I seriously felt like I right-clicked every fricken pixel on this thing.

Sorry for the fire drill i guess...

EDIT2:: THIS is still obscenely retardidly hard. Like if i'm half a screen away the right click (bare) on the tub makes me walk all the way and open it.

But SPAM CLICKING right click on it with the bucket, RIGHT next to the damn thing...and it no accepty

Hmm, I'm curious if it's a pathing issue then. It could be that you're caught at its corner and your little guy can't get to the right angle to put the items in the tubs. Perhaps try to relocate to another part of the tub and try again?

By your description, you're doing everything right. You fill the bucket with water and then, with the same process as filling fuel, you fill the tub with that water. It takes 6 buckets of water to be able to begin tanning but it holds up to 10. You only need 1 piece of bark.

Okay i know what it is.

It must (edit: may) have something to do with 'Enders' to be honest.

Cause once i 'zoomed' out. I was able to get the same lenancy that you get with other right clicking. NO problems now that I'm a bit zoomed out.

That thought never even occurred to me. Thanks for pointing that out. I always forget that custom clients are capable of clashing with basic functions, as we've seen with ender's zooming and combat as well.
