These river pearl mussels are appearing when I'm zoomed out and when I try to approach they disappear!

Wtf is this troll mussel species and what new curiosities will it give me for actually picking them?

Troll pearls. They're more similar to testicles than anything else though. No necklaces, at least of the traditional kind, but they're up for consumption.
