wax from beehives

Postby retrox » Sat May 21, 2011 10:27 am

I've build my beehive some weeks ago and farmed the area aroung it every day. By now i have'nt got any wax, only honey. is there a trick to get the wax out of the hive or is this simply done by rightklicking it? if thats the "solution" i'm very unlucky...

You just right click the hive and a menu "harvest wax" appears if there is wax inside.

I am under the impression that beehives don't produce much wax at the beginning, but I may be wrong. Also, you should use some fast growing crops (carrots...) because the chance to get honey and wax seems calculated when crops change stage (I think).

yeah, i find i get more wax when i replant all my crops at once. I think there is something that keeps track of how many pings the hive does in a certain time span and if it pings enough crops quickly enough (maybe the max a hive can manage??) then you get honey.... maybe....

When I harvest my 400 crops I get around 7 wax from my two hives, you can expect similar results possibly.

There's a small random chance whenever a plant grows (or is planted) of the hive producing something.

The quality calculation is completely unknown, only that the quality of plants and the hive have an effect. Also, a lack of growing crops decreases quality.
