Tea question

Postby Sitting_Bill » Mon May 23, 2011 10:57 am

Hi,

Sorry for this silly question. How long does the tea buff last? Because I would like to drink some before I log out so that any curios that pop while I'm away get the buff. Also, what is the maximum learning rate buff you can get? The wiki is somewhat confusing:

Wiki wrote:Tea also grants you "The Warmth of Tea" Buff which gradually increase your LP learning rate as the duration pass to an additional base 20%. The quality of tea affects the rate at which the learning rate increases each interval; this in turn increases the highest point of learning rate you can obtain when the buff is as its peak.

... ie is it 20% at the max of the buff, or if I drink more tea will it get better and better?

Also, is it like water in that I have to be out of stamina to drink it?

Thanks so much for your help,

The better your tea is, the stronger your Tea Warmth buff is. I'm a bit out of the loop for some time but IIRC 20% is the maximum for a base q10. Someone feel free to confirm or prove me wrong.

Yeah, and you can drink tea at any time, no need to empty stamina. Another important thing to note is that tea buff carries across sessions, so if you drink tea before logging off the buff will apply to all the curiosities that finish while you're offline.

This is brilliant :). I can't believe I never experimented with tea before. Along with that and pepper, growing my character is about to get a lot easier...

Cheers

I don't really find pepper to be worth the bother for anything less than cheese. Anyway, you do know about the hemp buff, right?

Yeah, i know about it, but I'm not sure how it works... same as tea basically?

EDIT: apart from the fact you smoke it instead of drinking it, i know all about that...

Cheers

It provides a FEP bonus to all the food you eat while under the buff. And sorry, I don't know exactly how much boost it gives, but I know that it does scale with quality.

Hmm. If I log off, will the tea buff keep charging up? Or does it stay where it was when I logged off? I didn't think it would be so slow ;)

Cheers

It stays at the same % as it was when you logged out, so you need to fully charge it before you go to sleep.

I was thinking it was only 10% at q10 at full charge. If the tea buff is effected by the tradition/change bonus, then it's even less. I don't think it is. I haven't really thought of testing it before now, though.
