Decay of portable items

Stuff like beehives, tanning tubes, etc.
Do they suffer from increased decay if I leave them over unpaved tiles?

They will decay over time even if left on paved tiles and eventually disapear. Containers will dump contents on the ground. I had a basket fall apart containing some very important items including a key. If I hadn't watched it happen idk wtf...'cuz you know, it' snot like we have any iron yet...

Yeah I hate how so much stuff needs iron, wooden chests, brick walls, keys, cellars, forges and crucibles.. Will other mines be able to process their ore without getting iron first?

I also hate decay too, it seems way too fast, and repairing costs almost just as much as building the items from scratch..

That is not what he asked. He asked "Will it decay faster if left on an unpaved tile"?

This.
English isn't my first language and everything, but the question is pretty clear.

If one would choose between two devils, which would you prefer? Items decaying over time or items decaying over multiple usage? (with the rule of faster decay on items away from civ/RoB still applied)

useage, not every plays every day. on the other hand, if you don't og in for weeks you rhsit should still decy. IMho both should happen but time decay should be signifcantly smaller than useage decay.
