Missing Chickens & Empty Cupboards

Postby RayvenQ » Thu May 26, 2011 10:34 am

So, yeah, I logged on today to find all 3 of my coops empty, entirely and the timber house full of empty cupboards, including a missing coffer, I may have been raided, but, oddly, the containers with decent stuff in them outside are entirely untouched, so I'm wondering wtf happened.

I've also got Ranging and about 900 per*exp and am seeing no scents either.

No wall, though we do have a claim.

And the stuff that was in the crates was more valuable than what was in the cupboards, this wasnt stuff taken out of the cupboardsm this was every single one of the 14 cupboards empty, along with the 3 coops, that had zero chickens and zero food in them.

If it was a thief, i dont think every single cupboard would be empty, if it was a griefer, they'd have been more thorough and took from the crates too.

yeah he probably threw the stuff form the cupboards on the floor so it decays.

I would't really call that griefing, even if its a harsh tactic.

you just want to weaken your enemy bye using legit game mechanics like decay.

at the start of W5 a boat was stolen from my old village.we find out where the guy lives, go there, kill him and his friends, take all of value and destroy the rest.

is that griefing?or just harsh retribution?

what is griefing than? when I was a hermit, I saw some other hermit who was trying to wall in the only heath in the area.so I sealed his cornerpost, deforested his area, turned all logs into boards, put timberhouse building signs with one block of wood built in in the way of his planned palisade.and destroyed his well.

that was griefing probably

Except, I've barely met people, let alone done anything to make enemies of anyone, so, yeah, it's griefing pure and simple.

Wrecking peoples places, for no reason other than you can, is griefing pure and simlpe, especially when the only motive is to wreck their shit.

no its more like that:

you don't have a palisade
a persons uses this lack of secruity and steals from you
he thinks "well that guy will be pissed at me"
which makes you 2 enemys
so now he tries to weaken you as much as he can so you can't take revenge

btw don't be so mad.I understand your anger but you can't really have REALLY good stuff in that early stage of game ;)

Lol

It is greifing. An unprovoked, intentional disruption to someones gameplay.

Regardless of the position OP put himself in by not building a wall, the greifers main reason for emptying his cupboards was to fuck with him.

The OP said he didn't steal the more valuable things from the other containers, but rather trashed all his misc. items.

Is it not greifing in WoW when someone camps your body and kills you before your health regens so as to have an advantage?

So what exactly is your question? Someone came onto your land and tore your belongings up. We have no idea what your valuables are or why you think they're valuable. Your sense of value may very well differ from the thieves -- in fact, I practically guarantee it.

Get a palisade up asap. Seriously, it's not okay to ignore making one.

Considering how valuable Int is and how cheap skills are, it's not far fetched to imagine that this guy has much higher than 1800 stealth*int.
