Aggro radius.

Postby thirty-seven » Mon May 30, 2011 3:24 am

Hello.

There is a really useful feature provided by custom clients - animals highligh.
Lots of players i meet think that red circle is an aggro zone, but unfortunately it's not.
I noticed that highlighted area is wider than boar's aggro radius but much smaller than bear's.

So the question is: how big is bear's and boar's aggro zone?

Thx.

trees in the area also effect the aggro radius, so its actually highly variable.
Also i think boars check for aggrivations less often than bears....

A boar attacked me yesterday when I was far outside the red circle, so I'd say the boar's aggro radius can be bigger than the red circle too.

The only thing I use aggro radius for is to see a boar or bear early. Otherwise, yeah, it's inaccurate to say the least.

Line of sight also seems to have something to do with it as well as some random factor.

Red circle just show you that there IS an aggro animal. And nothing else.

Animals wouldn't aggresive if they don't 'see' path to you, and, i think, if there is no line of sight, afcourse if you not by next tree :)

I had a boar walk into me and not attack. I have no idea what the variables are for animal aggression.

Boars can agro you within the render distance, or about another screen away from you. It's happened to me before...

I think how strong you are in a certain skill (don't ask me which one) will also affect this as you get attacke faster when you just started playing :)
Hope you have a great day

Animals hate players that are carrying boats.
