soak values / dps

Postby bananenmarmelade » Wed Jun 01, 2011 6:16 pm

hello everyone.

just a quick question:
does a gate have the same soak value as a palisade?

actually two questions: if u have a certain damage value. in how long periods of time is the damage dealt? what is the damage per second if u want to put it that way.

aah.. third one:
do battering rams also break from usage or only from moving them around?

Yes on the gate question.

If you're above the soak and actually doing damage to the item, then whatever amount of damage you're doing is being inflicted once every "tick" of the destroying animation (whenever the sound is heard). It depends largely on your stamina but in small doses I'd say that you inflict a certain static amount of damage every second you're destroying something.

One tick is pretty much one second (I believe exactly one second).

Only from moving around.

I'm actually prety sure it breaks slowly (very slowly) from ramming something. In w4 i was ramming a brickwall with 3 friends, and the ram was slowly turning red. That was after like 15 minutes tho so its probably nothing to worry about

Sorry about bumping this resolved thread but I wasn't in the mood/didn't feel the need to make a new one.

If I'm destroying a building with a group a people does all of our soak values add up?
A political rival once told Abraham Lincoln: "If I had a beard like yours, I'd shave".
Abe replied: "If I had a face like yours, I'd grow a beard".

erm, unless you're using a battering ram then its just 1 vs wall in each case... (2 or more guys who can only do the wall's soak value (or less) in damage wont damage it)
check the wiki for the battering ram formula :P
