QUESTIONS

Postby Onmyouza » Sat Sep 12, 2009 12:26 am

Hey, I have too many questions to make individual threads, so, I'll post 'em all here. Hope you don't mind.

First off, I need to know - can you dig in mines, and if so, do you only get stone, or can you get clay? This will help me determine if I'm going to concentrate on a mine or pal walls as my next project.

Secondly, do you have to plow and grow grass in forest tiles in order to grow apple trees and whatnot on areas normally filled only with pines, or can you just plant seedlings so long as you have them?

Thirdly, just how exactly are stats raised? Not like Exploration, but stuff like Strength. I don't quite understand how that works, exactly. Are they trained? Bought? Naturally happen through magic? Hook me up, yo.

Finally, and this is the most important one: is there any way to see a map showing where I am, or how far away I am, from the RoB? I'm trying to build a few roads that lead from my area to RoB, but I need a little bit of material to go with, or I'm just going to end up making a lot of mistakes. Is there any material other than the mini-map and the map that jorb posted in the announcements thread to figure out where I am?

Oh, yeah. And, uh. Even though I'm not a part of their villages, shout out to all the bros and Bay12s out there.

First, no, you cannot dig in mines - nor are you likely to find one to use privately.

Second, I believe loftar said in another thread that their native terrain is non-coniferous areas. That just means they'll grow quite slowly, but they will eventually mature.

Third, Laramere answered this as concisely as possible.

Four, unfortunately, not at this time.

Thanks, Lar and KoE. I thought that there was more to gaining stats, but it looks like I was wrong. Which is kinda a drag, considering my diet consists of apples and apple products (meaning, more apples, since I have yet to encounter any wheat to steal and start growing on my own).

Also, in response to there not being a map to look upon...I guess I'll just have to wing it. So, if anyone sees a bunch of abandoned plows and wagons by the side of a one or two-land road, that's me making use of trees I've had to cut down. And, uh, you can have 'em.

There is a map of the initial area, you may or may not be on it: http://www.maplib.net/map.php?id=6075

Map making is upcoming.

Actually, I think I know exactly where I am and where I can build now. This is seriously helpful; and with any luck, by the end of this upcoming week, there will be a road from the RoB leading to some undeveloped lands to the North-East. Thanks a ton, man.
