What do i have to do to make this work?? I followed the directions on the wiki, picked up the item and right clicked the alter and.....nada. any ideas?

you have to sacrifice to YOUR ancestors on an alter dedicated to YOUR ancestors....
also if YOUR ancestral alter gets destroyed, you lose numen :P
