Early game much longer now?

Postby Shask » Tue Jun 07, 2011 5:44 pm

I've been playing for a few hours so far in W5 (yesterday and today), but the LP I've gained is tiny, relatively speaking. Yes, I've been using curios. Is it just much harder to get LP now?

The starting is much easier now.

Ants + cone cows + dandelion all day and you're good.

Really? Cone cows give 150 LP/hour, so one could assume 500 LP/hour in the early game. In world 4, you could make 500 LP in a few minutes. How is this easier? (Genuine question)

Starting out probably really is a bit slower compared to the old system though. But once you have access to all kinds of curios your LP gain will be so much faster than before.

200k LP a day is easy, even 400k is at a certain point in a well developed town without investing too much time. Don't even want to know what people make that dedicate their whole day into perfect curio setups.

Jorb mentioned him and Loftar thought that in the previous worlds people developed trough the early stages of the game too quickly, thus the low LP gain at the "start" of the game. but I assure you, once you get some bluebells and edelweiss going, you'll be swimming in LP.

This. Go grab apples, nuts, birchbark etc. (Almost) every item you find for the first time = discovery LP.

Starting out is actually kind of fun now. Crazy though that might sound.

In world 4 me and NaoWhut crawled out of the womb of the hearthlands, went on a bear jihad after the first rabbit hides dried, for 16 hours.. The next day was spent much the same. The day after... Some of the most fun I've ever had playing this game. But I don't think it was really fair to everyone else who did not no life. What I'm really trying to say, was, I kind of found "early game" fun with the old LP system, crazy thought that might sound. I still really enjoy the new system.

Mindless hunters? =(
