boar now are not the best animals to taming..i propose to lock him in gate or palisade gate. He's running to you,you are at gate, when he toutch you-you close the gate and start taming.More info in link

This or use a lake with a wide wading area. Make sure it's a palisade or brick wall, otherwise the boar will just break the gate.

in my opinion they are the easiest to tame
Simply you have to aggro them with sling from water then you begin quelling sentence (e.g. call down the thunder => sidesteps => consume the flames and finally quell.
when boar deaggro you you have to sign-fence them so they don't walk away and even if they aggro you again during this you can run back to the water and start quelling sentence again . In fact I had less problems with quelling them than other animals but for some reason I cant get female.

Just use Call the Thunder to aggro. You can do it at any visual range and don't run the risk of screwing up your attempt to tame by doing damage to the animal.

i agree that call the thunder to agro is better, but why would damaging the animal for the first aggro matter?
loftar: New hair styles? Really? Seeing how Jorb never gets off his lazy ass to draw some, I almost want to add them to the game proper.

If I recall right (I could be wrong here), doesn't damaging the animal break any attempts and any future attempts to quell?

I have a question (I'll write here because I don't want to make new topic) do you have a female pig ? I have tamed 4 boars and no female so far
