Ok, so I am a noob..,just heard about H&H after doing some research on Salem. So far, I am enjoying myself, but I am stuck. How in the heck do I lay stone? I have chipped stone in my bag, and the skills in landscaping, but I can not seem to figure this out. I know..quit now...any help is appreciated.

You need to plow the land first (use a wooden plow)
Then you can lay it

alternatively, find some grass or mud to lay bricks on, you dont have to pave grass (or stones) before laying stones/bricks or planting grass

and if you dont want to pave where there is grass, chop down the forest
deforestation = grass grows (eventually)
