can wild animals enter houses?

Postby Tharsonius » Thu Jun 09, 2011 10:50 pm

I've always been pretty sure wild animals don't get inside, but today I found my cabin outside the palisade totally empty. Not just the useful stuff, but also q10 intestines, crappy loom and even the cabinets themselves were gone. The only thing I found outside was a scent of tresspassing.

Logic dictates someone stole the stuff - but I want to be absolutely certain. I don't feel like killing someone for just tresspassing, in case he could have chased an animal inside my house who broke the stuff. (okay, far fetched, but I don't see why people would also steal the cabinets unless it's a griefer who just smashed things, which is also sort of far fetched)

Anyway, the two things which I'm wondering now:

1) can wild animals be chased inside and smack the stuff there?

2) if a criminal is both tresspassing and stealing, is it possible to only find his tresspassing scents (due to limited exploration/perception of me or something like that) and no stealing scents?

(I don't mind homicide, but I got a conscience :) Makes me an ethical murderer, I guess)

1) Nope
2) You'll see both trespassing and theft.

You will see vandalism if the perp broke stuff.

The person who broke all your shit obviously has a high int*stealth, and the trespassing scent you see is from someone else.

yes, i think it is possible. you may want to try more than just several times to check.
my own experience, everytime i entered in and out, i saw different ones and lost others i saw last time.
as in, first i saw only theft scents, then next time i entered, i saw both vandal and theft scents.
i think it is really up to your exp*per vs the perp's int*stealth.
(now with my re-incarnated char, i can see nothing at all though lol)
but dont forget the possibility of the thief being a different person with higher int*stealth.

Yes, every time you enter you reroll against their check but if they're significantly higher in int*stealth vs. your per*exp then you're just not going to spot them. The scents will still be there.
