Tunnel building.

When building snake tunnels without supports, cave-ins usually happen when u're trying to make a:
1)turn
2)crossroad(vertical tunnel crosses horisontal)

What is the best scheme for each case?

Here is how i make a turn, i suppose its the best way.

But what about crossroads?

You should probably use code and letters or something to illustrate your point there.
From what I understand

Code: Select all
☑☑☑▧☑☑☑▧▧
☑▧☑▧☑▧☑▧▧
☑▧☑☑☑▧☑☑☑
▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧☑
▧▧▧▧▧▧☑☑☑
▧▧▧▧▧▧☑▧▧
▧▧▧▧▧▧☑☑☑

For 'crossroads' or 'hubs' or '4 way points', I'm still unsure of a 'good' way to do it, but I think it can be done.

make a mine support if you don't want to risk a cave in.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Still that 1 tile is a true blue "unsafe" tile.

It would also be strongly preferred to have all intersections meet at one point, not be slightly off.

Is there any way to roughly calculate the probability of cave-ins?

Even if there was, with the chance of getting shitsmacked by 2+ caveins or other such things, even for just 'one' chance, it ain't a good risk

LS of a village I know just died randomly. He was snaking on lvl 3, instadeath from full HP.

Honestly it's worth it just to drop a support at the center. They're not THAT hard to build.
