Other than for bug testing, I think I'll let the unknown answer stand. I'm sure there's someone around that's obsessive enough to get the answer, though.
Also, I call this a bug. What's the point of building a second entrance? A a second (or tertiary, etc) exit in case one is blocked? Is that even possible? If so, why not cover the entire floor in cellar doors?

You could do this I suppose. AS for why, if someone chases you in a house they may not be guarding the right one to get you in time

A lot of neat things can happen with it, also perhaps you may want to have one exit near the stairs in a mansion and one near a door, depending on your current use.
While there is little reason for it, it's like 'shrug'.
Oh, and hmm.. if you are chasing someone into a cellar (and let's say you don't need to dig boulders) you can very quickly make a new one and chase 'em down. Of course they'll probably warp out by then, but still it gives you that choice.
