Mudflats, rivers, and all related to clay, help

Hello, I recently started playin' HnH just so we are clear. Im having a huge problem with clay, its more then around 9 days Im looking for it and I cant find a single damn "node" I got a huge mudflat near mine lil shack thats why i settled there but I freekin diged the hell out of it square by square, even in the not deep river parts but nothing, mostly I can get like 1 pice per 3-4h of searching, isnt there any way to get the damn clay ? Maybe I missed something really... I want that pumpkin pie.

PS: theres one more mudflat near me but its claimed by a huge claim that goes far beyond the mudflat (crazy folks ?)

First, you just have to keep searching. Clay, like everything else comes in nodes. Nodes are fairly large. They have a center and spread out in a circular pattern. Thus, if you find a node, you'll know it quite a ways away from the center.

Now, you don't need to search every tile. You can easily get by just digging every 50 tiles or so until you find something. If there is a node, you'll keep digging. If there's no node, you get the one piece of clay every 3-4 hours. Unless you're after acre clay specifically, you can also dig along rivers to search for clay. This is a good way to know if there is a clay node in a mudflat to explore further or to just bypass it.
