BATTERING RAM TIMER AND OTHER QUESTIONS

Postby Exiledtexan09 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 11:06 pm

OK..I need some help. I thought the timer for battering ram glue was 8 hours. I am now well into about 18 hours and still getting the "you have to wait for the glue to dry" message.

Next..Stone Mansion, is this only buildable in a village? I thought it could be built by any claim owner with the resources and patience to do so?

Next..Metal and a damn Pick Axe. I have mines around me, but can not seem to get my hands on any metal as I do not have a pick axe. How am I suppossed to mine without a pick-axe if I can not make one? LOL

Battering rams take 24 hours to dry initially and 8 hours after being repaired.

Stone mansions can be built anywhere but it has to be upon a 9x9 paved area. It will accept grass but it will decay if it is not on paved ground. I assume you are building upon a personal or village claim.

You can mine with a stone axe. The better the quality and the higher your strength, the less dig interval it takes to dig. A pick axe has twice the interval speed but is also subjected to quality as well.

Ah...thanks very much. For some reason I do not have the ability to build a stone mansion in my menu. Is there a pre-requisite or minimum skill in carpentry or something? Thanks again..and I tried, but did not get any action messages when trying to mine with the stone axe, but will try again, thanks.

Make sure you know stoneworking and have discovered all of the following items

  • Stone- Chip from a natural rock formation
  • Straw- Harvest a wheat field
  • Block of Wood- Chop blocks of wood from a log with a stone axe.
  • Board- Saw a log into board with a saw.
  • Bar of hard metal- Remove a bar from a smelter

For mining select Adventure > Mining. Your cursor should turn into a pick-axe. Click the center of the head of the pick axe at the edge of the black tile. Make sure it is under the protection of a support to avoid cave-ins.

This is the one that most people are missing. If ANY metal has been discovered, then you should have a recipe for making nuggets. Then, even if you got your iron, bronze, or steel in trade, you can turn it into nuggets, thus discovering nuggets, and then back to a bar, thus discovering the bar of that type. You need a alloying crucible to do this.

The other thing anyone failed to mention: You need to have enough mining ability to actually dig into the stone. That's calculated as the geometric mean of the tool and character's strength: sqrt(str * tool).
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
