Silkmoth Farming

Do the moths themselves require leaves to eat? Or is it just the worms?

Just the worms, Remember the leaves hard cap the quality.

For now that's not a problem... My main character just died. Figured I'd set up my silk-farm while im getting my peaceful slider to full learning. Thanks for the info.

Any tips I should know about?

The most important thing is timing. Silkworms have an incredible knack of dying.. You need to make sure you are online at roughly the right time to move them from the herbalists tables into cupboards. If you have enough space it involves less effort to fill the cupboards with leaves first all except for twelve spaces and then you just put twelve worms in each cupboard and don't have to worry about them. Factor in a bit of time for potential server crashes too.

I don't think that is correct I think each leaf has a chance of giving +/- 1.

-1 only if it's lower than the worms. So it's a soft cap. the +/- comes when the moths make eggs.

Do I need to grow the tree myself, to get a higher than Q10 leaf? I've checked the Wiki and there isn't anything as far as I can tell in regard to the quality of a mulberry leaf.

That explains the majority of silk quality grinding (and thusly silkmoth grinding).

Trees tie heavily into the quality. Being for both herb table and mulberry leaves. This of course ties it to all the natural resources.
