Battering ram, breaking palisade but not a mile!

How do i batter down max 5 wall segments or specific tiles of palisade? Dont want a domino effect as last time when i needed to extend my palisade.
Thanks for advice.

You cannot control how many tiles the ram will break.

repair the wall as it is falling to stop it.
