Making a good Warrior

Postby Demon1 » Wed Jun 29, 2011 3:59 pm

I wanna make a good warrior/explorator character. What skills should I bump?
Melee only?
Melee/Unarmed Combat?
Melee/Marksman?

It would be very nice if someone answer me that. Thanks.

PS: I pretend to hunt animals with sword in the future but it`s not an emergy since I have a few hunters in my village atm.

From what little I know, unarmed is a must. A bit of melee is really useful for finishing animals off, but that can come later. Marksmanship is always useful while hunting, especially because you probably wont be able to take bears in close quarters for quite a while.

I don't really know about marksmanship in pvp, I've seen people here saying its pretty useless at the highest levels though, unless your opponent is wearing the wrong equipment :P.

UA+Melee.
UA is first u have to raise if u wanna be a warrior. Melee is to finish only.

UA / str, agi, con

Melee is worthless without high str, you won't get past their armour, so delay raising it till later. Well, I guess a small amount can be useful for hunting, to finish off the animals so they don't run.

Ok guys. Thanks for the answers... I'll make a Unarmed Combat/Melee Combat warrior.
How many points i have to add in Unarmed Combat before start bumping Melee Combat? I have 10 unarmed and 10 melee atm... but as i said... i have friends to make swords, shields and hunt animals for me while i'm not able to do it...

Edit:
And can you guys explain why I have to bump Unarmed together with Melee? It's because the movements? What it affects?

Manoeuvres are pretty powerful even on equal terms, if your opponent has more UA he'll get more out of them (up to 2x base at 4x UA) which can really ruin your day.

As for build advice, I'd get 100 UA first (to comfortably fight boars) and then some melee, 2:1 or 3:1 are the ratios that most people use. Be advised that you'll need to deplete the defence with punches and have decent offence to successfully strike with your weapon if you do this.

Unarmed:
Offensive capabilities with any 'UA' attack (KHTO, Punch, Strangle)
Defensive(or Offensive) Maneuvers, pretty much scales all maneuvers you'll want to use
Defense if you don't have a shield
Melee :
Offensive capabilities with any 'MC' attack (Valorous Strike, Sting, Chop, Cleave)
Defense with Shield

That's for the most part it, someone can fill you in more if you need it.

I'd suggest 300-400 UA before MC, but mostly you want good str (200+ should be fine) before oyu invest in ~100 MC. You're a bit late so you'll always be behind the curve (as am I) of the tip top players, but you can slowly raise yourself to around the 'average' if you try hard.

For stats the absolute minimum is STR, AGI. The recommended: STR, AGI, CON, CHA (No need to go insane).

Ok... I'll bump UA to 50 first then will bump melee to 25... i'll do something like this:

first: 50 UA than 25 MC
Later: 75 UA 50 MC
Later: 100 UA 75 MC

What u guys think? Good? Or should I just bump then 3:1 ratio?

3:1 or 2:1 is good.

MC is probably going to be used mostly for finishing moves or to get some bit better with damage via sword when you have STR, but for now UA is king, so pump that shit up. Potjeh or someone else can probably divulge more, but I'm pretty sure 3:1 is verily accepted.

If you have to ask this question then you should go full UA. AGL > STR > CON. And makes sure to keep int and perc up too. Once your int gets high enough you can start increasing barbarism.
