How Do I Know Where I Am?

Hello, I just started playing the game two days ago and I have yet to encounter another player. I see a bunch of hearth fires but no players. How do I know if I'm in an area where other players are or where I am in relation to other players. The only real marker I've seen so far is a village a bit to the south of me called Burcuresti(sp?), but i didn't see anyone in it.

First off, don't thank anyone in advance here, everyone is either an asshole or an idiot.

Secondly, use http://algeralith.info/HavenMap/ and try to find yourself. Look for specific lake shapes and shit.

Well then, both of that is good information to know. Thanks to you at least. I managed to find myself surprising quick, when i zoom all the way in, south east-ish area of the map when zoomed all the way out. Does that mean anything specific to you or anyone else?

This is a sandbox PvP game. Treat everyone as if you were playing a free for all game of CoD. Some people might be your friends, others might just pretend before killing you and taking your stuff, and yet others will just shoot you in the face for the lulz and then teabag you (by teabag, I mean steal your pants).
