Lawspeaker dies, how i get lawspeaker back

Hi,
I was lawspeaker of village and i died, i created guy and learned from his stone, i just bought lawspeaker skill but it will not do anything when i click on the village claim...

So can someone help me out on this please and thank you

You are clicking on the village idol (not the claim), right?

there is no other lawspeaker and i am clicking on the big skull village idol

Are you a member of the village? I believe this is necessary if the village has above a certain amount of authority.

How are you sure nobody beat you?

You must be in the village, if there are no other members in ur village then someone random could of grabbed ur idol right after u died. You also have to have lawspeaking

Actually, pretty sure there's no authority or village member status requirements to take lawspeaking. I got this opinion when I attacked a local village for stealing from me a while back. Killed the thief and their lawspeaker. Dead certain there were other living village members considering there was active hearth fires, and I very much doubt the auth was low since the lawspeaker and the thief logged in while I was in the village. Anyway, the village idol gave me the option to take over lawspeaker after I'd killed theirs.

From my current experience:
1)Be a member of the village, have lawspeaking, have no lawspeaker
2)Be a member of a village, have lawspeaking, authority under 50k
3)Not be a member of a village, village is under 50k and has NO villagers OR lawspeaker

I really wish the third one was more lenient, it's a right bitch to not be able to take over because there's a single villager/lawspeaker. It'd be understandable if the new idol could take over the banners as well, but it can't, so you can lose a lot of progress trying to take over a decent sized town this way.

thank you all for the help, one of the villagers became lawspeaker then let me in village and the renounced and i became lawspeaker....

So, i had to be part of village to be lawspeaker even though i was born again from the death of lawspeaker..
