Barter stand query

If i understand correctly. items can be "discovered" when using barter stand... so to help out newb folk etc, in my village, i could put like metal bars in and set the price as a carrot... they put in carrot and then they have discovered metal bars? unlocking the metalworking bits etc?

what about calf intestines etc... would they have to butcher or does this work for discovery?

You got it right! The issue is, of course, if you can put the item in the barter stand in the first place.

As long you can SELL the item form stand, you can set it as a discovery center.
