I can't craft! (and other questions)

Hi guys!

I've read and read and I just can't find the answer. I have the required skills (I think), but I can't craft bone saw, bone hook, or wood plow and herbal table. I have fishing, lumberjacking, plantlore and hunting. I've chopped down a tree, made wood blocks, split the wood. Do I have to do anything else?

Also, I set up camp in a fruit forest. near the border of a mountain base and the type of forest that has firs, etc. I had a heck of a time finding that bone so I was wondering if its a good idea to skip fishing for the time being and using my bone for a saw instead.

Should I continue to put points in to Exploration and Survival? I've been finding Nettle and Dandelions, but I really want to get into

How did you 'find' that bone? You need to butcher the rabbit/chicken yourself, or 'collect bones' from the skeleton of a larger animal. 'Finding' it in a cupboard in an abandoned log cabin doesn't count, I'm afraid.

And you won't be able to make any of those things that need boards, until you've made the boards yourself.

Yea I found the bone in a random basket that I found. Wow... I found some skeletons, but they didn't look like animal bones. I didn't even get an option to collect.

Do I need put more points into hunting to be able to pick up a rabbit. I've been playing for 3 days and only found three. The first one got a way and the others I clicked on it and couldn't pick it up.

There isnt actually a hunting incremental skill to put points into. You have to have the hunting skill learned and you have to have a 2x2 slot in ur inventory free to pick the rabbit up. You'll want to stand on top of the rabbit on the third run speed before right clicking it to catch it.

You can't collect bones from dead people (those skeletons you found) It's kind of a gruesome thought that you might be able to, but I can remember my starting out days when I really wished it was possible too.

You will sometimes find skeletons of e.g. boars and foxes near river banks, where they have been hunted by other players, who have only taken the hide and meat. The risk in trying to do this, is that some other players are just as happy to shoot innocent passers-by instead of boars
