Relocation

Postby sapling » Tue Jul 12, 2011 4:56 am

I have a char that is a not very old that I'd like to relocate to another character a couple grids away. Most of her lp is tied up in a claim (I just got her high enough skills for Yeoman and then started claiming).

If I destroy my own hearthstone, then kill myself, and then "inherit" that character when I start a new character (not 100% sure how that works yet), will I be given the option to appear at someone else's hearth stone as well? (Not the character I'm inheriting from, or not just randomly since it will be broken)?

I'm thinking about killing myself, joining the 3rd person, and then declaiming my land from afar if the above would work - I guess the alternative is logging in and out using "appear at random" until I'm close-ish?

Yes you can kill yourself and appear at their HF. You dont even have to destroy ur own hearthfire.

You're only a few supergrids away? It's not that hard to travel that far IMO, traveling by boat is pretty quick and you can take along tools or curiosities or whatnot too. At worst, if you die you'll be no worse off than if you committed suicide, and you get the chance to keep all your LP and won't have to worry about moving your Belief sliders around more.

You can enter a hearth secret at the staircase at the upper corner of the creation room and spawn into the map at their location. Inheriting is straightforward, there'll be a runestone of your dead character and you select inherit.

Hm that's a good point - it's "3" grids away reallu, 2 down and 1 left, and it's a pretty new char so I hardly have anything worth much. I'll think about boating it though as I do enjoy a good forage trip. :)

Thanks for the info!
