Curios,consumed?

Postby Taikand » Fri Jul 15, 2011 9:30 pm

I made a new character in W5 and I observe that my cone cow disappears after some time. Why does that happen? Is the curiosity consumed when it generates LP or it was my mistake?

Ok, that's bad.Now instead of grinding LP, we grind curios.Besides the cone cow, what other curios can be easily crafted/foraged by a noobie character?

dandelions, ant soldier/queen/empress, itsy bitsy spider, itsy bitsy's web, ladybug, dragonfly, bark boat, clay chariot. since most of the curios last for many hours there is not a lot of grind for curios. http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Curiosity

For a cone cow (20 minute duration) yes it's a repetitive/boring grind... but there are other curios that last longer. The great majority of the curios I use last 8~24 hrs. There are some extremely long ones such as Shewbread (120 hrs). The longer duration ones feel less tedious.

Auroch hair is one of my favorites. Lasts 48 hours, and easy to get if you have a friend. Apparently, pulling auroch hair will make them attack you, but if they're already attacking someone else, pulling their hair is safe. Needs verification, but I've done so on a few herds already. Get a friend to build himself inside a roundpole square, attack auroch with sling, and then you go in and snag the hair. To get out, it's generally easiest if the person outside the box builds more roundpoles to trap the herd in a box, and then both people can leave easily, or can stay and kill them for sweet sweet beef...

... Or tame a few for cattle.

If you have a boat nearby, you can use it to retreat to. They won't break the boat. If they're near your house or a cave, you can use that to hide in, too.

You can trap them with signs/fences as well.

I don't think you can pluck hair from tame cows, could be wrong there but I don't think so... For simplicity's sake, I find that having a friend helps. If you've got the skill to survive a few hits, then by all means enjoy running :P

No. I was just mentioning what else you could do with them after you plucked the hairs.
